Compton Verney Art Gallery Wedding – Steph & Alex

Steph & Alex were married in July last year at Compton Verney Art Gallery in Warwickshire. My day started at Steph’s gorgeous family home in Solihull, where I had the pleasure of meeting her family for the first time. What warm, open and welcoming people, they are. Before long Steph’s Bridesmaid squad arrived, so there was much chatter and excitement, while they waited for Steph to make her grand entrance. I always love this part of the day! Meanwhile at Compton Verney, Alex and his Groomsmen were greeting guests and getting ready for Steph’s arrival. I loved the ceremony room at Compton Verney, it’s so light and open and suited their pastel colour scheme perfectly. As it’s an Art Gallery, guests were able to enjoy drinks and canap├ęs whilst admiring the beautiful paintings that are on display here. If you cast your minds back to the Summer, you’ll remember we had one of the hottest summers, scorching the grass and making it almost straw like. The weather that day, threw everything it could at us, rain, wind, sunshine and more rain, however, like all of my couples, Steph & Alex took it in their stride and didn’t hesitate to get outdoors to make the most of the dry spells. Big thanks to my buddy Danielle Victoria Photography for second shooting.

Warwick Castle wedding photography

Warwick Castle is a stunning location for a wedding, steeped in history and dating back eleven centuries, it’s a place I’ve loved visiting as a child and adult. Jo & Jermaine were married on possibly the hottest day of the year, in July last year, and a day where Brits everywhere were feeling patriotic, as England were playing Sweden in the quarter finals of the world cup. To get married at Warwick Castle, you have to wait until it’s closed to the public, meaning your ceremony is much later than usual, at 5pm, this meant that Jermaine and his groomsmen along with some of the guests were able to catch some of the game in the pub beforehand. When I arrived for Bridal prep, Jo and the girls had the champagne flowing and the football on too, so there was lots of whooping and cheering. Jermaine and his Best Man, walked from the pub to Warwick Castle and greeted guests that were arriving in the courtyard, before everyone made their way to the State Dining Room for the ceremony. These two are just such lovely people! They didn’t stop smiling all day and had a great time with their guests. After the ceremony we all headed over to the Peacock Garden for the drinks reception, and made the most of the beautiful gardens for photos. The Grand Hall was like stepping back in time and a fantastic backdrop for dinner, where else can you dine with the backdrop of ancient armour and all that history. Despite the grandeur of the surroundings, which I wondered might feel a bit formal, it was quite the opposite! The wedding was intimate, relaxed and fun, which was down to Joanna & Jermaine’s warm, laid back personalities! Here are some of my favourites from their day. If you’re having a wedding at Warwick Castle, do get in touch, I’d love to be there!

Newborn & family photography at home Birmingham – The Yardleys

I loved photographing this gorgeous family and their newborn baby, at their home recently. Over the years I’ve photographed lots and lots of newborns and during this time I feel like my newborn photography has evolved into a more natural style, that feels less forced. I’m loving photographing families in their homes, with all their creature comforts around them and the fact that on this shoot, the first baby, the dog, joined us, made it even more special. If you’d like a newborn or baby photo shoot with a more natural feel, in your own home, I’d love to hear from you.

RAF Wedding Photography – Charlotte & Matt

As it’s Valentines Day, it feels only right that I should be sharing a little romance on the blog today. Charlotte & Matt’s Summer wedding at Halston Hall in Oswestry, Shropshire, was so much fun to shoot. With Matt looking super smart in his full RAF dress uniform and Charlotte like something out of a bridal magazine in her Suzanne Neville dress. The morning started with the girls getting ready at Charlotte’s parents and the boys making sure all of their uniforms looks immaculate at The Town House in Oswestry, before heading off to St Oswalds church. After the ceremony, the couple walked out under a sword arch and to lots of confetti thrown by the guests. It’s lovely after the ceremony to have factored in some time to be congratulated by your guests. Matt and Charlotte’s timeline was perfect and allowed plenty of time for this, there were lots of hugs and congratulations before heading off in a cream Morgan to Halston Hall. Last Summer I was spoilt with glorious sunny days, this was definitely one of them. A perfect summer day and we were treated to a beautiful golden hour, which is my favourite time for portraits. Thanks to Samantha Jane Photography for being my ace second shooter and also to Carly Woodward for her expert planning skills. Here are some of my favourites, I hope you love them as much as I do.

2018 Wedding Highlights

Wow what a year! I feel like 2018 flew by. It was filled with so many amazing people, not only the couples that booked me but their wonderful families and friends, who have all made me so thankful that I get to do a job I love. Thank you!
I’ve photographed weddings all over the UK, in castles, barns, country houses, in fields and back gardens. Each and every one has been beautiful. Seeing people declare their love and commitment to each other just never gets old for me, I can’t wait for this years adventures.

Wedding photography at Curradine Barns – Holly & Adam

Weddings at Curradine Barns are always special. In my years of being a wedding photographer at Curradine Barns, I’ve noticed something. I’ve noticed that the couples that get married here have something in common. They want their wedding to be full of their personalities, for the day to feel relaxed, to be able to chat and laugh with friends and loved ones, to be able to catch their breath and take it all in and whilst photography is of huge importance to them, they want to enjoy the day to the max and that joy captured, so that when they look back on their photos in years to come, they’ll remember not just what it looked like but what it felt like to be back there. These are my favourite weddings. Holly & Adam’s wedding was perfect, it was true to them and I loved every minute of it. If you’re having a wedding at Curradine Barns and want beautiful, heartfelt photography, do get in touch, I’d love to hear what you have planned.

Alrewas Hayes Wedding Photography – Melissa & Nathan

I was photographing a beautiful wedding at Alrewas Hayes just last week. Being back reminded me how much I love this venue in the Autumn and of a gorgeous wedding I shot last year, that somehow I missed blogging. I flippin love Autumn! It’s my favourite season! The grounds at Alrewas Hayes are beautiful and any time of year but in the Autumn, the colours put on a real display. I’m not sure how I didn’t get round to blogging Melissa & Nathan’s wedding (slapped wrists) so I thought I’d share it now, in all it’s Autumn glory. These two were so much fun and didn’t stop laughing all day. They celebrated with such a great bunch of friends and family. Melissa looked amazing in her lace, long sleeved wedding dress and Nathan very dapper. I loved their styling of copper and lots of foliage and have to mention their wedding cake – wowzers! It was the biggest cake I’ve ever seen and was expertly made by Meliisa’s Mum. The detail on it was amazing. Here are some of my favourite photos from their day.

Iscoyd Park Wedding Photography|Shropshire Wedding Photographer

It was lovely to be back at Iscoyd Park again for Lauren & Dale’s Shropshire wedding. It was a beautiful, bright sunny day, which started with the girls getting ready in the bridal suite at Iscoyd Park, having their hair done by Vicky M Hair and make up expertly applied by Jessica Mair The ceremony took place at St. Mary’s Church, in nearby Whitewell, such a pretty church, with the loveliest lady Vicar, who always makes everyone feel so welcome. After some serious confetti throwing we all headed back to Iscoyd Park for a drinks reception in the sunshine. Lauren looked absolutely stunning in her Pronovias wedding dress and Dale looked incredibly dapper in his suit from Clements & Church.

Hampton Manor Wedding Photography – Jessi & Jamie

Hampton Manor is one of my favourite Midlands wedding venues, it’s a beautiful place just outside Solihull that never fails to deliver. Stunning architecture, a mix of contemporary and classic interior design, gorgeous grounds to wander and amazing food! No wonder Jessi and Jamie chose it for their wedding venue. Theirs is a story of transatlantic romance. Jamie is in the army in England, Jessi lived in Florida. Their story began when Jamie walked into the last bar that Jessi went into for one of her girlfriends hen night. As they say, right place, right time! Months of Skyping and transatlantic visits followed, before they realised they couldn’t be apart. Jamie proposed, Jessi moved to the UK and wedding plans began. Both loved the book ‘The Secret Garden’ and loved the idea of an English afternoon tea, so this was incorporated into the day. Anyone who knows me knows I’m a dog lover, so I did a happy dance when I saw that their dog, Oreo, joined them for a photo, looking very smart in his tweed waistcoat. Karen at Passion for Flowers worked her magic with books, moss, ferns and roses to give the room a real enchanted feel and Ben the Cake Man, created the spectacular cake. I loved the fact that Jessi had two dresses, one for the daytime and then a shorter one so she could dance later in the evening. Just as Jessi’s Dad began his speech, he was interrupted by the best surprise ever! Jessi is a big Musical Theatre fan, Les Miserables being her favourite. Without her knowing Jamie and organised a local amateur dramatics society to interrupt the speeches and begin a performance of some of her favourite songs, her reaction was incredible! I don’t think there was a dry eye in the place. I flipping loved this wedding and was made to feel so welcome, Jessi and Jamie’s families and friends were my kind of people, warm, funny and full of life. As always the team at Hampton Manor did a brilliant job of looking after everyone, including me. If you’re looking for a wedding photographer for your Hampton Manor Wedding make sure you get in touch.

Doddington Hall Wedding Photography – Daisy & Chris

Daisy & Chris chose Doddington Hall & Gardens in Lincolnshire, as the venue for their relaxed, country wedding, last year. After a week of rain, we were treated to a gorgeous sunny day. Daisy and Chris poured lots of personal touches into their day, Daisy created the place settings herself, her Brother designed the stationery and her Mum was responsible for all of the flowers (she enjoyed it so much she’s now set up her own floristry business). Chris is a keen cyclist so bikes were incorporated into the their day, on the stationery and the couple used a beautiful vintage bike with a basket filled with beautiful flowers (hired from Pretty Little Extras). There was even a bike sneaked into the cake, which was lovingly made by Daisy’s Aunty at Chocckywoccydoodah, it really did look too good to eat! It was a gorgeous wedding with wonderful, warm, friendly people. Thanks for having me along. Here are some of my favourites
