Romantic Iscoyd Park wedding

Romantic Iscoyd Park Wedding

Being a professional wedding photographer means I get to work at some of the UK’s best luxury wedding venues. I am a recommended photographer at Iscoyd Park, it’s my favourite, country house wedding venue nestled on the borders of Shropshire, Wales and Cheshire, I adore photographing weddings there. If you’re looking for a romantic, luxurious yet homely venue that you can hire exclusively for your wedding, then Iscoyd Park is for you. The team there go above and beyond to make your day special and you have a choice of beautiful ceremony rooms if you’re having a civil ceremony. Jen & Ed, chose the light filled Garden Room for their civil ceremony. It’s pale cream, neutral backdrop complimented their romantic wedding perfectly.

Jennifer and the girls started bridal preparations in one of the self contained cottages at nearby Willington Lodge and then drove the short distance (5 mins) to Iscoyd Park for their final stages of getting ready. The lovely Harry Jon was responsible for getting the girls glammed up.

Brunch Engagement Shoot at The Custard Factory, Digbeth

Birmingham is a great place for an Engagement Shoot, I particularly love photographing in Digbeth, around the Custard Factory, there’s so many cool backdrops to use and some great coffee shops, where we can meet up beforehand. If you’re thinking of having an Engagement Shoot, my advice would be to just go for it! They’re a great way for us to get to know each other before your wedding and for you to get comfortable in front of my camera. I always think it’s nice to go somewhere you like to hangout, so Bindya & Tarun chose their favourite cafe for brunch in Birmingham, Kanteen. We met up and chatted about their wedding plans over a coffee, while they played some board games. After we’d eaten we wandered around Digbeth creating some couple portraits.

After a bit of scrabble and some connect four, we had a wander around Digbeth and made some pictures. Nearly all of my couples say they aren’t fans of having their pictures taken and let’s face it, who is? I pride myself on being able to get people to relax in front of the camera and you’ll soon realise it’s not as bad as you thought, plus you’ll get some ace photos of you as a couple before the wedding, that you could use as Save the Date cards – bonus!

Bindya & Tarun get married next week at Alrewas Hayes, it’s going to be epic! I’ve heard a rumour Tarun’s going to be arriving on horseback!

Compton Verney Wedding

Compton Verney Wedding

I’ve wanted to photograph a wedding at Compton Verney Art Gallery for ages, so when this lovely couple booked me to be their wedding photographer, I was over the moon. My day started at the Bride’s family home in Solihull, where I had the pleasure of meeting everyone for the first time. Before long the Bridesmaid squad arrived, so there was lots of chatter and excitement. Back at Compton Verney, Alex and his Groomsmen were greeting guests and getting ready for Steph’s arrival. The ceremony room at Compton Verney, is so light and open and suited their pastel colour scheme perfectly. Having your wedding at Compton Verney means guests are able to enjoy their drinks and canap├ęs whilst admiring the beautiful paintings that are on display here and as the weather in the UK can be a bit unpredictable, if it rains, Compton Verney has such a light filled indoor space for your guests to carry on enjoying the day, there’s also a sheltered area with columns at the front entrance that I think is lovely for group photos. Compton Verney Wedding photography

Military wedding at Warwick Castle

Fairytale military wedding at Warwick Castle

Warwick Castle is a stunning location for a wedding, steeped in history and dating back eleven centuries, it’s a place I’ve loved visiting as a child and adult. Jo & Jermaine were married on possibly the hottest day of the year, in July last year, and a day where Brits everywhere were feeling patriotic, as England were playing Sweden in the quarter finals of the world cup. To get married at Warwick Castle, you have to wait until it’s closed to the public, meaning your ceremony is much later than usual, at 5pm, this meant that Jermaine and his groomsmen along with some of the guests were able to catch some of the game in the pub beforehand. When I arrived for Bridal prep, Jo and the girls had the champagne flowing and the football on too, so there was lots of whooping and cheering. Jermaine and his Best Man, walked from the pub to Warwick Castle and greeted guests that were arriving in the courtyard, before everyone made their way to the State Dining Room for the ceremony. These two are just such lovely people! They didn’t stop smiling all day and had a great time with their guests. After the ceremony we all headed over to the Peacock Garden for the drinks reception, and made the most of the beautiful gardens for photos. The Grand Hall was like stepping back in time and a fantastic backdrop for dinner, where else can you dine with the backdrop of ancient armour and all that history. Despite the grandeur of the surroundings, which I wondered might feel a bit formal, it was quite the opposite! The wedding was intimate, relaxed and fun, which was down to the couple’s warm, laid back personalities! Here are some of my favourites from their day. If you’re having a wedding at Warwick Castle, do get in touch, I’d love to be there!

Newborn & family photography at home Birmingham

I loved photographing this gorgeous family and their newborn baby, at their home recently. Over the years I’ve photographed lots and lots of newborns and during this time I feel like my newborn photography has evolved into a more natural style, that feels less forced. I’m loving photographing families in their homes, with all their creature comforts around them and the fact that on this shoot, the first baby, the dog, joined us, made it even more special. If you’d like a newborn or baby photo shoot with a more natural feel, in your own home, I’d love to hear from you.

An RAF Wedding in Shropshire

As it’s Valentines Day, it feels only right that I should be sharing a little romance on the blog today. Charlotte & Matt’s Summer wedding at Halston Hall in Oswestry, Shropshire, was so much fun to shoot. With Matt looking super smart in his full RAF dress uniform and Charlotte like something out of a bridal magazine in her Suzanne Neville dress. The morning started with the girls getting ready at Charlotte’s parents and the boys making sure all of their uniforms looks immaculate at The Town House in Oswestry, before heading off to St Oswalds church. After the ceremony, the couple walked out under a sword arch and to lots of confetti thrown by the guests. It’s lovely after the ceremony to have factored in some time to be congratulated by your guests. Matt and Charlotte’s timeline was perfect and allowed plenty of time for this, there were lots of hugs and congratulations before heading off in a cream Morgan to Halston Hall. Last Summer I was spoilt with glorious sunny days, this was definitely one of them. A perfect summer day and we were treated to a beautiful golden hour, which is my favourite time for portraits. Thanks to Samantha Jane Photography for being my ace second shooter and also to Carly Woodward for her expert planning skills. Here are some of my favourites, I hope you love them as much as I do.

Vintage inspired DIY wedding at Curradine Barns

Vintage inspired DIY Autumn wedding at Curradine Barns

As a professional wedding photographer, I’ve photographed lots weddings at Curradine Barns over the years. Every wedding is unique, however, I’ve noticed that couples that choose Curradine Barns as their wedding venue have something in common. They want their wedding to feel relaxed and informal. Curradine Barns has a lovely laid back country vibe, that makes you feel really welcome, so it’s one of my favourite Worcestershire barn venues and I love being one of their recommended wedding photographers.  Holly & Adam really put their own stamp on the day by incorporating lots of Handmade DIY elements into their vintage inspired wedding day.  A family friend created Holly’s gorgeous foliage filled bouquet, using succulents, ivy, lavender, thistle and gypsolphilia. This wedding was featured on the UK’s top wedding blog Love My Dress, a really inspirational wedding blog for brides and grooms to be. If you’re looking for a photographer for your Curradine Barns wedding, I’d love to hear from you.

Holly’s beaded lace and chiffon wedding dress was designed and hand made by her talented Mum Julia, she also made the dark green lace Bridesmaids dresses and the boys waistcoats – super talented!

Adam’s tartan wool suit was supplied by Noose and Monkey (now known as Twisted Tailor)

Modern & elegant Autumn wedding at Alrewas Hayes

Modern elegant wedding photography at Alrewas Hayes

Being a wedding photographer at Alrewas Hayes is always a treat! I’m lucky to have photographed lots of weddings at this beautiful venue in the Staffordshire countryside. Autumn, is my favourite season and the grounds at Alrewas Hayes really put on a fabulous display of colour at this time of year.  I loved the couples styling of copper centrepieces with lots of foliage, it was so modern and elegant. The aisle of the ceremony room was lined with glass vases and floating candles, which gave the room such romantic feel.

Iscoyd Park Wedding Photography|Shropshire Wedding Photographer

It was lovely to be back at Iscoyd Park again for Lauren & Dale’s Shropshire wedding. It was a beautiful, bright sunny day, which started with the girls getting ready in the bridal suite at Iscoyd Park, having their hair done by Vicky M Hair and make up expertly applied by Jessica Mair The ceremony took place at St. Mary’s Church, in nearby Whitewell, such a pretty church, with the loveliest lady Vicar, who always makes everyone feel so welcome. After some serious confetti throwing we all headed back to Iscoyd Park for a drinks reception in the sunshine. Lauren looked absolutely stunning in her Pronovias wedding dress and Dale looked incredibly dapper in his suit from Clements & Church.
