Pastel Palette Kilworth House Photography
I first met Emma with her Mum a year or so before the wedding, they came to see me while Emma was in the UK Visiting family, as her and Carl live in Dubai. We chatted about weddings, family, Dubai and it was clear what a lovely, warm person Emma is and how much she loves Carl and her family. Whilst we were chatting about family, amongst other things, I ended up getting a bit teary eyed – how embarassing – I’d just found out a week or so before, that my Dad had terminal cancer and emotions were still quite raw. It’s not really what you do at a meeting with a client is it, but sometimes emotions get the better of you. Thankfully, I made a quick recovery and tried to brush it off and our meeting ended. If I’m really honest, I didn’t think in a million years that they’d book, although being introduced with glowing recommendations from the fabulous Julie Dawson aka The Wedding Genie, I thought I’d made a bit of a mess of things by showing what a big softie I am and didn’t feel very professional. Thankfully I was wrong, I had a call from Julie the next day to be told that Emma thought I was the perfect wedding photographer for their wedding at Kilworth House. So a few Skype meetings (to meet Carl and not forgetting Lord Rodney the dog), it was all agreed – I couldn’t have been happier and it made me realise that I should always be myself, no matter what.
I couldn’t wait for the wedding, after following Emma & Julie’s boards on Pinterest, I knew I’d be in for a treat and it didn’t disappoint. A beautiful pastel colour palette of the palest pink and blush, romantic florals and styling by Ava Event Styling, men in black tie and lots of laughter as friends and family got together from around the world. The day was filmed by the hugely talented Reel Weddings – such a great team of videographers to work with.
